day 3-CrYsTaL CoVe

the first time at the beach is always an amazing experience. grayson took to the water right away, even though the temp. was a little cooler than inland. "WOW, the ocean is huge!" "Look at all this sand!" "Can we go into the water?" "Where are all of the seashells?" Just a few things heard as they were running away from us...just a little scary, but exciting to see the adventurous side come out in both of the kids.

addy jane was the sand castle maker...she went in the ocean long enough to fill up her little bucket with water so she could use it for her castle...she was very content digging in the sand, creating something! she even scavenged a few smooth stones to use for decoration for the castle...yep, they came home with us!

i had fun watching cora, too. mike put her feet in the water. as the waves went out, her feet would go down, when the waves came in she would pull her feet up! she was as wet as the rest of the crew, and had sand in places i never thought it could get!!!! believe me, you can not wipe sand off with a wipe...as we were leaving the beach, we saw how sand brushes were at the entrance of the beach side cafes and restrooms. how ingenious...thank you whoever you are. i was really happy we were able to spend a day at the beach. it is one of my most favorite places. someday i will go on a sunny day. that means we need to visit the pacific ocean some time other than October or January.

these pictures are so much and definitely live up to the 'pictures speak a thousand words'. love the joy in grayson's face. he totally loved that!!! addy is so like me wanting to make sand castles.
cora is so NOT like me in wanting to taste the sand. i love that in every picture she's just in 'the moment' and enjoying it. what a great baby!
